FITS ALL YEARS KRX 1000 and KRX 4 1000
Protect the transmission on your KRX and KRX 4 with this ultra heavy duty skid plate that bolts on top of your factory skid plate. The stock skid plate is not thick enough to protect your transmission from cracking when driving your machine on rocks or rough terrain. Unlike others available now, the drain holes actually line up with the factory skid plate. Includes all hardware and has a rust prevention coating already applied (after all, its just a skid plate, check out the picture of the one off our machine from one trip to Windrock). Made in the USA with USA materials.
Tools Required:
Power drill with a 3/8" drill bit (a smaller step bit may be useful for starting the hole)
9/16" wrench
7/32" Allen wrench or Allen socket
Installation Instructions:
Prepare Rear Mounting Holes
Begin by enlarging the two rear factory skid plate mounting holes to 3/8". These holes contain tack-welded nuts on the reverse side, which will be dislodged during drilling. Ensure all dislodged nuts and any residual slag are completely removed before proceeding.Install Rear Bolts
Position the skid plate and install the two rear bolts using the following order:
Flat Allen bolt → Skid plate → OEM skid plate → Washer → Supplied Nylock nut
Tighten the bolts securely but leave them slightly loose to allow for minor adjustment during alignment of the remaining holes.Install Center Bolts
With the skid plate loosely in place, install the two center mounting bolts using the same hardware order as above. Once all four bolts (rear and center) are in place and aligned, fully tighten them.Drill Front Mounting Holes
Mark and drill the two front-most mounting hole locations to 3/8". As with the rear holes, ensure all displaced nuts and slag are cleared from the drilled area.Install Front Bolts
Secure the front bolts using the same order as in Step 2. Fully tighten to complete the installation.
